The year 3 to year 6 were on the bus heading to the Ty Williams Cup for a full on day of footy. On Friday the 12th of August the students from year 3 to year 6 were getting ready for a fun game of rage footy. We had the Mossman Sharks and the Mossman Sharkettes. They were made up of two teams, a girls’ team and two 3/4 mixed teams.
To start off with we all did some skills and drills to warm up for our first footy game of the day. Some of the skills were tackling and passing the ball.  The drills included sprints from a laying position, stretches and warm ups and jogging with high knees.
The girls won one game, got a tie but sadly lost two. Their first game went well.  Everyone tried their best.  We would like to especially say a big thanks to Latavia for getting 2 amazing tries, Wazan for spectacularly tackling all the bigger girls with no fear, Annazara for scoring one try, Kalyah for scoring her first try and Marlie for scoring a try you didn’t see coming.
The first mixed team won all 3 of their games and the second mixed team had won 2 games and lost 1. On the bus ride home Mr Love had gotten a phone call from Mr LB saying that we had won the sportsmanship trophy from the Ty Williams Cup. We were all so excited so we started taking selfies of all of us in our yellow Ty Williams Cup shirts.
We would like to say a special thank you to our awesome teachers for making this day possible. J
