Interschool Athletics Carnival champions

Interschool trophy holders
The weather turned it on for us and allowed a great day of fierce rivalry, healthy competition and tremendous athleticism at our recent interschool sports day. Students from our school competed with students from Port Douglas, Miallo, Wonga Beach, Julatten, Daintree, Alexandra Bay and Saint Augustines schools. Mossman State School won the Aggregate Track and Field (no relays) trophy, the MSPS Ladies Auxiliary Trophy (with relays) and came second in the overall Average Track and Field to win the Law Family Shield trophy. We also took out three age champion trophies with: Ainsley Port (Under 10 Girls Age Champion), Reagan Crees (Under 10 Boys Age Champion) and Ethan Crees (Under 12 Boys Age Champion). Ethan Crees really shone on the day, smashing 5 long standing records in the 100m & 200m sprints, long jump, high jump and shot put for under 12 boys. We now have some students who have been selected to represent our cluster of schools at the Peninsula Athletics Carnival in Cairns and we wish them the best of luck! All in all a great day for Mossman School and our students and a great day for the Douglas Cluster of Schools. Thank you to all those families who were able to come along and share it with us.
