This week we had a visit from Malia Ane, the Director of Hawaiian Studies at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Malia and her fellow teacher travelled to Australia to support the World Wide Voyage of their canoe, Hōkūleʻa, which is currently on her way to Sydney from Aotearoa. Malia is part of the educational team that travels with the canoe to various ports, and came to our school to share some of Hawaii with our students.
The theme of the World Wide Voyage, is Mālama Honua, which translates to mean, Taking Care of the Earth, which includes the land, oceans, skies, and people.  It was fun sharing our cultures with each other.
