Mossman State School is located in the centre of the business district of Mossman in Far North Queensland. We have an annual enrolment of around 230 - 240 students so we are large enough to be able to access a rich variety of skills and resources to support your child yet small enough that each child in our school is known personally and as an individual.
We are very proud of our great school and excited about the things we are achieving and have planned. Some of these include:
Year 6/7 Canberra Trip in July every second year
the completion of our new resource centre
implementing our explicit improvement strategies in Literacy and Numeracy with a particular focus this year on spelling and mental computation as well as strengthening the work we did last year around writing
explicit focus on the teaching and learning of Science every term
continuing our RAAAGE Reading Club (Reading Anything, Anywhere, Anytime is Great for Everyone) Check out the Reading Challenge page for information about the National Year of Reading.
